It’s that time of year, again. MD&M – the nation’s largest medical device industry tradeshow – is hosting its West Coast conference in Anaheim, CA, and Ray Products is thrilled to be returning to the floor as an exhibitor. The showcase provides an excellent opportunity for our company to connect with hundreds of engineers, innovators, designers, and large-scale medical device corporations and share the full range of manufacturing solutions our pressure forming and vacuum forming capabilities can provide. We’ve met many of our long-term clients at previous MD&M showcases, and it’s always exciting and inspiring to not only learn of the cutting-edge innovations emerging within the medtech industry but to also be a part of their creation.

Medical devices have always comprised a significant portion of Ray Products’ manufacturing projects. In fact, the plastic product that put our company on the map over 70 years ago was a medical device: one of the earliest clear plastic baby bassinets on the market. Since then, we’ve thermoformed plastic parts and enclosures for countless instruments used in the field of healthcare, including this cancer diagnostic machine, this DNA sequencer, this hospital cart, and many others.

On October 9 and 10, 2019, Ray Products will be exhibiting at D2P, Design 2 Part, Southern California conference, located at the Pasadena Convention Center.  Home to NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory and the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), Pasadena has built a reputation as a hotbed for technological innovation, providing a great backdrop for showcasing our advanced plastic manufacturing techniques.

As an exhibitor, we’ll be showcasing and discussing an assortment of plastic parts that we’ve manufactured via our specialized vacuum forming, pressure forming and trimming technologies. We’re looking forward to sharing the benefits of thermoformed plastic solutions with attendees from Southern California and beyond. Here are a few of the processes we’ll be discussing:

We love what we do at Ray Products. Being at the forefront of both the plastics and manufacturing industries is of primary importance to our business, and sharing the work we do with our customers is a key component of our success. That’s why we’re very excited to announce our participation in four upcoming trade shows and conferences through the end of 2019 into early 2020. First up is AmCon in Salt Lake City on October 2nd and 3rd. Right after that, we head to the D2P conference in Pasadena on October 9th and 10th. Finally, December and February bring us two back-to-back MD&M shows – first is the more specialized BIOMEDevice conference in San Jose on December 4-5th, then the larger MD&M trade show in Anaheim from February 11th-13th. Read on to learn a little more about each show, and what you can expect Ray Products to provide as a featured business.

We love getting to meet with engineers, designers, and manufacturers at Design-2-Part shows around the country. But we look forward to the Southern California D2P show every year because it’s in Long Beach, which is practically our backyard. (If, you know, the Pacific Ocean could be a backyard.)

If you’ll be in town on September 12th and 13th, here are our recommendations for what not to miss.

  1. Check out the waterfront. Long Beach is where the city meets the resort, and the waterfront is the perfect place to experience the best of both worlds. Stroll along Shoreline Park and admire the boats in the harbor, visit the lighthouse, and poke around the fun and unique shops of Shoreline Village.
  1. Get out, in or under the water. Don’t miss the world-renowned Aquarium of the Pacific. With over 11,000 animals in more than 50 exhibits, the aquarium recreates many of the Pacific’s unique ecosystems. If you want to see marine life in the wild, consider a whale watch. And if you’re extending your stay and have some extra time on your hands, take the Catalina Express out to Catalina Island, a breathtaking destination 22 miles off the coast.
  1. Visit the Queen Mary. Built-in the 1930s and retired in 1967, the historic Queen Mary is an ocean liner-turned-hotel permanently docked in Long Beach. Whether you book a stay or just drop by for a drink, meal, tour, or special event, the Queen Mary is a must-see.
  1. Grab a bite to eat. There are many dining options near the Long Beach Convention Center, so you’re bound to find something right up your alley. For breakfast or a light bite, we love Crème de la Crepe. For lunch, the sandwiches at the family-owned Modica’s Deli are excellent. In the mood for a delicious meal with a gorgeous view? Check out Parkers’ Lighthouse.
  1. Come say hi. We’ll be at Booth #143 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday the 12th and from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Thursday the 13th. Come find us, say hi, and let us know what you’re working on right now. We’d love to tell you a bit about thermoforming and what our custom-manufactured plastics can do for you.
